Is Apple Prepping a 5.8-inch OLED iPhone?

Daily iPhone Blog - Allt om iPhone - 09 Mar 16 kl. 02:17

Apple is fully expected to launch a smaller (iPhone Se) this month, but what about the company’s upcoming flagships that will launch at the end of year? The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus should be a near total overhaul of the current iPhone 6 range, and that could mean an even larger screen for the Plus, according to some reports. Digitimes (up and down on reliable content) says that Apple is working on an iPhone model that will sport a 5.

Apple Is Working On VR

Daily iPhone Blog - Allt om iPhone - 31 Jan 16 kl. 00:07

We think of Apple like this. It is not the innovative company some would have you believe, instead Apple enters an existing but nascent market and makes defining products within it. That’s pretty admirable in itself, think how the iPod, iPhone, and iPad impacted their respective markets and you get the picture.

Hermes Apple Watch Available on Apple Online Store

Daily iPhone Blog - Allt om iPhone - 20 Jan 16 kl. 13:45

The Hermes Apple Watch is something of an exclusive variant of the company’s first ever wearable. So exclusive in fact that it has only been available through some high end boutique shops, but that is about to change. Cupertino is now selling the Hermes Apple Watch Edition through its online Apple Store, meaning you can get the smartwatch from your own home.

Apple iPhone 6s Plus was the best performing smartphone of 2015

Daily iPhone Blog - Allt om iPhone - 14 Jan 16 kl. 16:30

How the taste of irony must taste sweet for iPhone fans this morning. The iPhone 6s Plus has been named by benchmark software AnTuTu as the best performing smartphone it tested throughout 2015, beating all of its Android competitors by a fairly huge margin. Of course, many reading these pages will know that a criticism often levelled at Apple’s smartphones by Android fans is that the iPhone cannot compete with Android flagships in terms of raw performance.

Apple Dominates Enterprise Activations in Q3

Daily iPhone Blog - Allt om iPhone - 25 Nov 15 kl. 22:10

Apple is continuing to make significant strides in the enterprise market and through the third quarter of this year (June 1 to September 30) the company was responsible for 66% of all enterprise devices activated. The company’s iOS platform, which includes iPhones and iPads, led the way in the market and rose 2% compared to the 64% enterprise activations in the second quarters. Interestingly Apple made the most headway in the tablet market, with the company’s iPad accounting for 71% of all enterprise slates activated in Q3.

Apple Dominating Mobile Profits (95% of all Money)

Daily iPhone Blog - Allt om iPhone - 17 Nov 15 kl. 23:28

When you look at smartphone sales charts you will see Samsung leading Apple at the top of the market by a significant margin, while the result is even more emphatic if you compare Android sales to those of iOS. However, in terms of making cold hard cash (which of course is the reason why all companies are in the industry) Apple is simply unstoppable. Research from Canaccord Genuity revealed that Apple brought in 94% of all profit generated in the mobile industry through the third quarter of 2015.

Apple Creating PayPal Rival?

Daily iPhone Blog - Allt om iPhone - 12 Nov 15 kl. 17:36

Last year Apple put itself into the finance sector with Apple Pay, the company’s mobile payment system that has been well received by consumers. However, according to the Wall Street Journal, Cupertino has wider aspirations and is going to launch a rival to PayPal during 2016. The outlet says that Apple is meeting with financial heavyweights JP Morgan Chase, Wells Fargo, Capital One Financial and U.

Firefox Browser now on iOS

Daily iPhone Blog - Allt om iPhone - 12 Nov 15 kl. 16:33

Firefox is of course one of the leading browsers in the desktop space and Mozilla’s service has been available on Google’s Android for a long time. Apple’s iOS counterparts are different however and only recently has the browser been in beta for. After some wrangling with Apple, Mozilla has now launched the full Firefox app for iOS.

Tim Cook: Wearable with FDA Approval a Possibility

Daily iPhone Blog - Allt om iPhone - 10 Nov 15 kl. 15:54

While the Apple Watch has been a huge success and has become comfortably the most popular smartwatch on the market, it does have limitations. For example, it was not the game changer we thought it would be from a tech perspective and devices like the Microsoft Band have more robust health features. Apple is not discarding health though and in fact CEO Tim Cook says the company is still very interested in developing a wearable that delivers true healthcare potential.

Daily iPhone Blog - Allt om iPhone - 09 Nov 15 kl. 15:05

Daily iPhone Blog - Allt om iPhone - 04 Nov 15 kl. 15:46

Numbers announced by Apple today show that adoption to iOS 9, including the newly launched iOS 9.1 is going swimmingly, with some 66 per cent of all compatible iPhone and iPads now running the software. iOS 9 is the latest full build release of Cupertino’s mobile platform, and it seems as though customers are eager to get it.

Apple Working on iPhone 6c for 2016 Launch

Daily iPhone Blog - Allt om iPhone - 04 Nov 15 kl. 15:40

Apple has had a busy couple of months, rolling out a number of new products, including two news iPhones and two new iPads. However, at the iPhone 6s/iPhone 6s Plus launch event, one variant of the all-conquering smartphone was not unveiled. We are talking about the iPhone 6c, which was widely tipped to land at the event as a replacement for the iPhone 5c.

Apple iOS 9.2 Beta Profile Open to Everyone

Daily iPhone Blog - Allt om iPhone - 30 Oct 15 kl. 00:49

The Public Beta of iOS 9.2 has been made available to everyone by Apple, or at least those who have a compatible iPhone that is. The days of betas being solely for developers has long gone, and if you so choose you can check out build 9.

Apple Continues to Target Android

Daily iPhone Blog - Allt om iPhone - 28 Oct 15 kl. 05:06

Apple continues to sell huge amounts of iPhones, despite missing optimistic analyst prediction the company is thriving and making vastly more money than any other mobile brand. CEO Tim Cook was in good mood after Cupertino’s fiscal fourth quarter earnings call, saying the company is taking the fight to Android and starting to make serious headway in China. Cook claimed that a massive 30% of all iPhone sales in the last quarter came from consumers who were switching to Apple’s iOS from Android.

Apple Wows with iPhone During Third Quarter, iPad Slumps Further

Daily iPhone Blog - Allt om iPhone - 28 Oct 15 kl. 04:59

It seems as though Apple is having a typical "s" year. When the company launches an iPhone with an s at the end of the title there is usually a levelling out of sales, which in turn usually leads to plenty of doom mongering that Apple has topped out. It is happening again as Apple released its third quarter financials that showed that iPhone sales fell below analyst expectations.

Verizon Debuts iPhone Upgrade Plans

Daily iPhone Blog - Allt om iPhone - 25 Sep 15 kl. 04:54

We are not exactly surprised to see that Verizon has created a program for upgrading the iPhone year after year. The company followed T-Mobile’s path by doing away with subsidized contracts, which prompted Apple to create its iPhone Upgrade Program and for T-Mobile to follow suit. Verizon is now joining the party with its Device Payment option.

Samsung Working on Apple Style Upgrade Lease System

Daily iPhone Blog - Allt om iPhone - 21 Sep 15 kl. 20:50

Verizon and T-Mobile have already done away with contracted smartphone subsidizes and many other carriers are expected to follow suit eventually. That’s not necessarily good news for flagship manufacturers as consumers may find them harder to purchase. Samsung is now apparently working on an upgrade lease system, just like Apple’s recent model.

Samsung Infringed Apple Software Patent

Daily iPhone Blog - Allt om iPhone - 18 Sep 15 kl. 16:50

Apple’s courtroom battle with Samsung in the United States has been waged for years, but it is a battle Cupertino has largely won, although not necessarily in the ideal way. The latest victory for the company reveals that Samsung has been found guilty of infringing an Apple patent once again, this time for software stolen from the iPhone to be used in its Galaxy smartphones and tablets. The result is those (admittedly older) products could be banned from sale unless Samsung removes the software in question.

Watch Apple’s Huge Launch Event Again

Daily iPhone Blog - Allt om iPhone - 10 Sep 15 kl. 20:47

Did you miss Apple’s massive launch event yesterday, or perhaps you are a fan of the company and want to relive the show all over again? Either way, you can still see the big press event that saw a myriad new products launch in Cupertino as Apple once again reasserted it dominance over the smartphone and tablet markets. The iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus were revealed by the company, bringing with them vastly improved performance and 3D Touch screen technology.

iPhone 6s: the Legacy is Fine

Daily iPhone Blog - Allt om iPhone - 10 Sep 15 kl. 17:02

Every year Apple managed to pull off what every other smartphone company can never do, makes its devices equally popular despite incremental updates. The new iPhone 6s is not a radical departure from the iPhone 6 last year, in fact it looks identical, but will still sell in tens of millions over the coming months. Apple is the king at this kind of marketing, but beneath it all is the iPhone 6s, which is just a very good products.

Apple iPhone 6s Plus: The Same but Better

Daily iPhone Blog - Allt om iPhone - 10 Sep 15 kl. 15:54

Last year Apple split its iPhone range to have two flagship models, with the iPhone 6 acting as the main sales driver while the iPhone 6 Plus served as the spec king and of course came with a larger screen. A year later and Apple just unveiled the iPhone 6s Plus and the device is pretty much what we expect; an incremental update over last year’s model. That means the iPhone 6s Plus looks the same as the 6 Plus, which is not bad thing as it remains a stellar looking smartphone and considering Apple ushered in a bold new design last year, it still feels fresh.

Apple iPad Pro: Stunning, Feature Packed, and Hugely Expensive

Daily iPhone Blog - Allt om iPhone - 10 Sep 15 kl. 15:25

Apple revealed the iPad Pro at a huge all-encompassing launch event, finally bringing the large screen tablet that has been rumored for years. While Apple says this is a game changer, it is actually just a competitor to the Microsoft Surface Pro, but that does not mean the Pro is not fantastic. It is, with plenty of unique tech and features and in some ways Apple may have redefined casual portable computing with this feature rich device.

Android Users Flood to iOS in Europe

Daily iPhone Blog - Allt om iPhone - 02 Sep 15 kl. 16:21

Reputed research company Kantar has revealed that Android users are jumping ship in Europe in huge numbers and are siding with iOS and the iPhone. The interesting thing is this exodus from Google’s operating system is happening during the summer, a time of year where Apple’s sales usually drop because consumers are awaiting a new iPhone to launch in September. In the biggest economies in Europe (Spain, France, Germany, Italy, and the United Kingdom) saw a combined 27% of all people who purchased a smartphone during the last quarter came from Android to iOS.

Apple to Launch new iPhones September 11th

Daily iPhone Blog - Allt om iPhone - 21 Aug 15 kl. 18:54

Apple first announced the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus in September 2014, matching its fall launch cycle adopted several years back. Cupertino is expected to use the same month to unveil the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus this year. September is the month set aside for the launch and a French carrier has today let slip that the launch will be on September 11th and the new smartphones will begin shipping on September 18th.

iPad Pro could Arrive in November

Daily iPhone Blog - Allt om iPhone - 20 Aug 15 kl. 21:47

The iPad Pro has been rumoured so much that we sometimes forget that it actually doesn’t’ exist and Apple has never made mention of it. However, the apparent leaks will not go away, and in a potential enterprise environment post Apple’s deal with IBM, 2015 could be the best year to launch the Pro. According to supply chain sources, November will be the month in which the tablet will make its debut.

New iPhone to have 5-inch Screen?

Daily iPhone Blog - Allt om iPhone - 19 Aug 15 kl. 23:24

A new report suggests that the guys at Apple are planning to up the screen size of at least one iPhone model again, following a similar strategy last year. An insider within Foxconn has tipped a 5-inch iPhone that will launch this year, and considering that is from Apple’s chief manufacturer then it is plenty interesting. However, a pinch of salt should be taken until something more concrete is released.

iPhone 6c will arrive next month

Daily iPhone Blog - Allt om iPhone - 11 Aug 15 kl. 20:09

A report from Taiwan last week suggested that Apple would hold off releasing the iPhone 6c until the summer of 2016. It was a scenario I said was next to impossible as the company is committed to fall launch cycles for its core products. Either the iPhone 6c is being released in the coming months or it will be announced in Sepetember and launched next year I argued.

Will the iPhone 6c Land Summer 2016?

Daily iPhone Blog - Allt om iPhone - 05 Aug 15 kl. 17:26

It is a common rumor this year that Apple is working on a new "affordable" iPhone that will land alongside the iPhone 6s next month. Of course we use the term affordable loosely as any replacement for the iPhone 5c is likely to be anything but, however we have already heard that at least time Apple with sort us out with a metal body device. Now Digitimes (a sketchy source on Apple with a hit and miss track record) now says that the iPhone 6c will be launching through the second quarter of next year.

Apple iPad Decline Equals General Market Trend

Daily iPhone Blog - Allt om iPhone - 30 Jul 15 kl. 19:41

The most worrying aspect of Apple’s thriving business at the moment is the iPad, which has suffered sales declines for the last six quarters. However, the device is merely following an overall market trend that has saw sales of tablets decline on the whole for the same amount of time. Yes, Cupertino’s slate is declining rapidly, but then it has further to fall and is still comfortably the best-selling tablet on the market.

Apple: 16GB Storage Frees Up Resources

Daily iPhone Blog - Allt om iPhone - 10 Jun 15 kl. 18:17

While we pretty much love everything that Apple does here at Daily iPhone Blog, there are some aspects of the company that still mystify us. Chief among those and a regular debating point in our office is why the company persists in offering 16GB as a base storage (for the iPhone and iPad) in a world where people consume media in huge amounts online and via downloading? Apple’s Phil Schiller has explained (sort of) why the company does still offer 16GB, speaking to “The Talk Show” podcast the marketing man said: "The belief is more and more as we use iCloud services for documents and our photos and videos and music that perhaps the most price-conscious customers are able to live in an environment where they don't need gobs of local storage because these services are lightening the load.

Apple to have Record Second Quarter, Over 51 Million iPhones to Sell

Daily iPhone Blog - Allt om iPhone - 16 May 15 kl. 16:20

Apple enjoys profit making quarters constantly, the company is a success every period, but the last two have been especially amazing with the company smashing records during Q4 to end last year and then broke its own best for a first quarter. It comes as little surprise then that analysts are saying Cupertino will continue its record breaking run by having a bumper second quarter. Of course, Apple always bests those pesky analysts, so we expect the company to do even better than what Wall Street predicts.
