A blast from the past, it is still amazing to think that mobile juggernaut Nokia is now longer really with us in a hardware capacity… until now. While Nokia helped to put the Windows platform on the map in recent years, the company is still best known for being the feature phone king, the best-selling mobile phone maker in the world during the 2000-2010 decade. Nokia har tillkännagivit ett nytt designspråk kallat Pure UI som ska användas på webben och i företagets olika produkter. Designspråket har presenterats av själva Nokia, inte av HMD Global som använder Nokia-varumärket för smartphones, men det kommer eventuellt även användas i de Nokia-märkta mobilerna. Pure UI är tänkt att vara framtidssäkert, flexibelt och sammanhängande och erbjuda en ren och minimalistisk layout.

Inga fler Legion-spelmobiler från Lenovo

Lenovo har bekräftat att företaget lagt ned Legion-serien med spelfokuserade smartphones. Första Legion-telefonen kom 2020 och den senaste, Legion Phone Duel 2, släpptes sommaren 2021. Även om Lenovo inte verkar se någon framtid för smartphones med spelfokus så har andra fortsatt inom kategorin, likt Asus och Xiaomi.

Google Pixel får stor uppdatering

Feature Drop för mars är här Nu har Googles börjat rulla u mars månads "Feature Drop" (QPR2) för Google Pixel. Uppdateringen, som just nu finns tillgänglig för Pixel 4a och nyare, innehåller nyheter som snabbare Night Sight för Pixel 6/6 Pro, stöd för dubbla eSIM på Pixel 7/7 Pro, timers på nest-enheter ska nu synas på telefonen och det magiska suddgummit kommer till äldre Pixel-telefoner även om användaren inte har Google One. Nothing Phone 2 erbjuder sannolikt Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 istället för Gen 2

När Nothing berättade att Phone 2 kommer drivas av Snapdragon 8 specificerade de aldrig chippets generation, men CNET hävdade att det rörde sig om senaste versionen. Telefonen kör dock sannolikt i själva verket Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 istället för Gen 2. Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 var Qualcomms snabbaste chipp ända fram till slutet av förra året.

Nothing Phone 2 drivs av Snapdragon 8 Gen 2

Nothings första telefon låg i mellanklassen rent prestandamässigt eftersom enheten drivs av Snapdragon 778G. Uppföljaren kommer ha betydligt mer kraft under bakstycket. Företaget har nämligen bekräftat att Nothing Phone 2 utrustats med Qualcomms snabbaste chipp Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.

Om Nokia hade gått all-in på Android från första början hade den forna smartphonejätten kanske fortsatt vara en av de största och idag legat i toppen tillsammans med Apple och Samsung. Nokia gjorde istället med facit i hand en rad felsatsningar, inte minst genom att lägga alla ägg Windows Phone-korgen. Idag är inte Nokia längre Nokia på smartphonemarknaden utan istället HMD Global som använder Nokias varumärke.

Utöver den lättlagade G22 har Nokia ikväll även presenterat C32 och C22. Båda är budgetmobiler med ett svenskt pris på under 2000 kronor. Nokia C32 kostar närmare bestämt 1890 kronor medan C22 har fått ett rekommenderat cirkapris på 1690 kronor.

HMD Global börjar tillverka Nokia-telefoner i Europa

Kul! Att tillverka allt i Kina har visat sig vara en dum idé så nu flyttar fler tillverkning ut från landet. Oftast till andra länder i Asien, men HMD Global ska nu börja tillverka Nokia-lurar med 5G i Europa.

När vi pratar om den tekniska revolutionen som stort så är vi snabba med att ta upp vad den gjort för att förenkla människornas vardagsliv. Vi har nu maskiner som gör småsaker för oss som att göra kaffe ur en kapsel, dosera rätt mängd av tvättmedel beroende på hur mycket tvätt vi lägger i tvättmaskinen och vi har även en automatisk dammsugare och gräsklippare. Vad många dock inte lägger en tanke på är hur den digitala revolutionen gynnat spelmarknaden så mycket så nu förtiden blir vi nästan trötta på att se alla reklamer för onlinekasinon som går varma dagarna i ända.

The HTC 10 is a very appealing smartphone, and it is now available in unlocked form in the United States, with the company saying it will arrive next week. The handset will ship during the week and it is excellent news for customers of AT&T. While Verizon and Sprint have confirmed the HTC 10, the second largest carrier in the country said it will not be carrying the smartphone.

LG G5 Launching in Canada, Landing April 8

LG has been quiet regarding the specific launch date of the G5 flagship, the modular designed smartphone that wowed us at the Mobile World Conference back in February. Microsoft has always struggled to become a major player in the mobile hardware market, and it seems no matter what the company does changing the situation may be impossible. Let’s look at the last quarter, which was the fourth of 2015, including the Christmas period, and was the first in which the company’s new Windows 10 Mobile platform and related handsets were launched. That seems like a recipe that could lead to some breakout success, after-all more consumers splash the cash during the holidays and Windows 10 Mobile is excellent, while the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL flagship are pretty spiffing too.

It looks like the company is conjuring another all-out masterpiece spliced with high end design and leading specs, the Galaxy S7 may also be at the higher limits of battery life expectations amongst its rivals. Eldar Murtazin, a solid source who typically nails rumors accurately, suggests that the Galaxy S7 will be offering 17 hours of video playback, or at least that is the number Samsung will be touting when it outs the S7.
